Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, gazetted in 1991, is one of Uganda’s most treasured natural wonders. Located in the mist-shrouded hills of southwestern Uganda, the park covers an area of 321 km² of dense tropical rainforest. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bwindi is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and a sanctuary for more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population.

Home to over 400 mountain gorillas, the park boasts 11 habituated gorilla families, offering unforgettable gorilla trekking experiences. This close encounter with our distant relatives in their natural habitat ranks among the most moving wildlife experiences on Earth, making Bwindi one of the top five tourist destinations in Uganda.
