Itinerary
Upon your arrival at the airport, our team will be there to greet you and provide transportation to your city hotel, which will be either the Boma Inn Nairobi or a similar hotel. After your long flight, our team will explain what will happen next and answer any questions you may have about your upcoming safari, which starts the following day.
Your arrangements are on a bed-and-breakfast basis, which is a suitable option for those arriving in Nairobi in the evening. However, if you arrive early, you can choose to relax at the hotel or take part in various city activities such as the Nairobi city tour, giraffe center, elephant orphanage, or visit the Karen Blixen before returning to the hotel in the late evening.
After you finish breakfast, our driver guide from the company will pick you up from your city accommodation and take you on a scenic drive to Samburu National Reserve, which is located in the north. During the drive, you will pass through the fertile highlands of Kenya, famous for its vibrant agricultural economy of tea and coffee.
You'll stop at the equator line for a demonstration of the north and south, and to use the bathrooms before continuing on your journey to Samburu, where you'll arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you'll go on your first game drive. This will be an opportunity to witness the amazing wildlife conservation haven, famous for an abundance of rare species of animals, such as the Gravy Zebras, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffes, Gerenuks, and the beautiful Oryx. You'll also learn about the cultural heritage of the Samburu people, who are known as the butterfly people. Finally, you'll retreat to the camp at sunset.
Embark on an early morning game drive in this reserve, which boasts a breathtaking panorama and unique Flora and Fauna, endemic to Kenya's Northern Hemisphere. The reserve is abundant with wildlife and is famous for its rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, and many more. Return for a late breakfast.
Spend the middle of the day relaxing, just like the animals do. Read your favorite book or write in your journal. Then, head out again at 4:00 pm as the day begins to cool down. Spot the Samburu special five before returning to the Hotel/Lodge/camp late in the evening.
After Breakfast, pack up and drive south of Samburu to reach the Fairmont Safari Club in good time for Lunch, After finishing your meal, take some time to get familiar with the hotel, which boasts a museum and a nice view of Mount Kenya. It also has an orphanage that cares for orphaned, injured, and distressed wildlife, giving them a second chance to release these animals back into the wild once they are back to full health.
You will Afterward undertake a short drive to reach Ol Pejeta in good time to begin your game drive. Ol Pejeta is home to a large population of black and white rhinos, home to two of the world's last remaining northern white rhinos, giraffes, gazelles, elephants, lions, cheetahs, and numerous other animals. The first part of the game drive will involve a visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary which was established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market.
You will exit the park at sunset after exploration and head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will take a scenic drive southwards to Lake Nakuru National Park, passing through the fertile highlands of Kenya where tea and coffee are grown. You will cross the equator again and arrive at the highlands of Nyahururu before reaching Lake Nakuru, where you will have lunch. After checking in to your lodge, you will set out on an afternoon game drive in the park and return at sunset for an overnight stay.
Lake Nakuru is one of the most beautiful national parks in Kenya. It has rocky escarpments, patches of yellow-barked acacia forest, a waterfall, and is home to flamingos, black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, and the endangered Rothschild's giraffe. The southern end of the lake is the best place to see wildlife. The forested area below the Rhinos Cliff is a favorite lion-spotting point where lionesses love to sleep in the trees, and leopards frequent the same area.
After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, you will drive east of Nakuru towards Lake Naivasha with a game drive en route. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake located northwest of Nairobi. This lake is known for its abundant population of Hippos, Maasai Giraffes, wildebeests, and over 400 bird species. Therefore, it is an ideal destination for bird watchers.
Upon arrival and check-in, you will take an Optional boat ride which is a refreshing experience that will take you on the breezy waters of the lake. During the ride, you will explore the diverse birdlife and wildlife on the lake and its surroundings. After the boat ride, you will go for a walking safari excursion to Game Sanctuary. On the island, a great opportunity to appreciate nature
You will return to the hotel for lunch, Later in the afternoon proceed to Hell's Gate National Park for an optional cycling, After the excursion, you will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will drive through the Rift Valley floor to reach Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival at the camp, you will have a delicious lunch. Later, you will go on your first game drive in this wildlife sanctuary, also known as the "eighth wonder of the animal world." During the game drive, you will spot the big five: lions, leopards, elephants, and rhinos. Return to the camp at sunset for dinner and overnight stay.
Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the best places to observe wildlife. The reserve boasts an incredible variety of animals, including big cats such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and impalas. If you're a bird lover, you'll be thrilled to know that over 500 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve. You'll also enjoy the beautiful savannah landscapes, dotted with acacia trees. Be sure to bring your binoculars for an even closer look at the wildlife.
This is a full day dedicated to game viewing across the rich tree-studded grassland and rolling hills of the famous Savanna grassland. The Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game animals like leopards, cheetahs, lions, and other herbivores. You can find virtually every type of wildlife in Kenya here.
For lunch today, you'll have picnic lunch boxes in the savannah under a flat-top acacia tree while watching the animals grazing. You'll continue with the game-viewing on-route to your camp and arrive late in the afternoon after thoroughly exploring this massive grassland savannah measuring 1,500 sq.
You have an option of booking a balloon ride today, which takes off early in the morning. After landing, the crew helps you out of the basket and escorts you to a lovely setting for a champagne bush breakfast, which is a lifetime experience and worth the price. Later, you can join your driver guide at a location and proceed with your full-day game drive.
After breakfast, get ready for a long but visually stunning drive to the Isebania border post, separating Kenya and Tanzania. Once you complete the border immigration process, you will switch vehicles and meet your Tanzanian driver/guide. They will welcome you and take you to the vast Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, which means "endless plains." Lunch will be served on route.
You will arrive at the camp late in the afternoon. Keep an eye out for the millions of animals that call this place their home during the drive. Tonight, you will have an authentic African safari experience. The lodge is situated within the national park, right in the middle of all the animal action, and is an unfenced site. Once you arrive, your driver/guide and the camp manager will provide you with a comprehensive safety briefing.
Please note that the drive from Masai Mara to Serengeti can take up to 9 hours, including the border crossing. Alternatively, we can arrange a 2-hour flight transfer.
Wake up to another beautiful day in the Serengeti. Start your morning with an early game drive to see the animals in their most active state. After the game drive, head back to the Lodge to enjoy a relaxed breakfast and lunch.
During the hottest part of the day, take a break to relax in the camp by reading your favorite book, writing about your safari experience in your journal, or simply listening to music while observing the birds. Don't worry, the animals will also be taking a break from the heat. Later in the afternoon, go for another game drive through the park. After the drive, return to the lodge for dinner and another night under the beautiful Serengeti sky.
Please note that there is an option for an early hot-air balloon ride. If you are interested, please ask the tour manager before booking the trip.
You will have an early breakfast at 6:00 am and then go for a final game drive through the Serengeti as you exit the park. After that, you will depart for Ngorongoro with picnic lunches. Once you arrive, you will descend into the crater floor for a half-day crater tour. The crater is approximately 20 km/12 miles wide and 600 m/2,000 ft deep, and there are only two roads that connect the crater rim with the crater floor, one for driving down and another for driving up. It takes about 45 minutes to descend to the crater floor from the top of the caldera. The floor is home to a rich and highly concentrated wildlife population, with around 20,000 mammals of varying sizes living there, including approximately 20 black rhinoceros. This makes the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these animals.
The animals in this area are less wary of humans and vehicles, making it easier to observe them up close. You can watch them as they roam the lakes, rivers, woodlands, and hills.
You will head to Lake Eyasi, a vast seasonal soda lake that has been home to the Hadzabe people for over 10,000 years, and it is one of the few places in Africa where traditional life is still practiced without modern influence.
Today's visit to the Hadzabe lands will offer you an incredible insight into their ancient culture, and you will have the chance to learn about their way of life. You can meet members of the community and participate in daily activities such as hunting, gathering, and traditional dances, and also learn about their unique 'click' language, which is believed to be one of the oldest languages still in use today. You will then proceed to your lodge in Tarangire National Park, arriving in good time for lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on your first game drive to explore this beautiful park, which is considered the second park with the highest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania after Serengeti. You will return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.
Depart at 7:30 am and head towards the border with Kenya via Arusha, leaving Tarangire National Park behind. You will arrive in time for lunch.
